Parting shots

I'm not one of those people who feels summer is over as of Labor Day.  When Labor Day rolls around, we are just heading into the bonus zone.  September may be back-to-school, but it is still summer to me.  October is the real beginning of fall.  Last Thursday I attended an event across campus and shot some photos while walking over and back.  As tomorrow is October 1, I thought I would share these parting shots with you, today.
The famous "Jordan River."
In June, a female student named Lauren Spierer disappeared.  The blue ribbon around this tree serves as a remembrance of her.  Her face is everywhere on posters around town and on campus.  So sad.
Wonderful day for sitting on the terrace...
Wandering through our wooded campus...
Sample Gates
Looking down Kirkwood...
Heading back to my building...
Indiana Avenue (as you can see, leaves are starting to change and fall.
It is supposed to get down to 36 degrees tomorrow night.  I am working to bring in the houseplants that have been outdoors all summer.  We've already had some days that I've ran my heater in the car on the way to work and one morning I even turned on the heat in the house while I showered.  I've been struggling with cold-like symptoms that my doctor tells me are merely allergies.
I've been switching out my spring/summer clothes for fall/winter clothes.
I am working at Papertrix as I do during the busy fall season.  (Come see us!)
I am in the process of cleaning up the fireplace room because it won't be too long before we are sitting beside the fire.
I know we will still have some sunny, warm days in October, but to me October means fall is truly upon us.  I love fall.  Fall is my favorite season and October is my favorite month.   And not just because I'm an October baby!
"Bye-bye September.  Hello, fall!"

Yay!! Love Indiana in the fall! Well, you already know that. Great pictures, so beautiful. Still at 104 degrees here today but should start cooling off in the next week or two into the 90's. Looking forward to that. When is your birthday?

Fall is OK but except for the fact that that means lots of cold and snow, ice, wind and winter clothes. So I'd rather have summer year round. You're located in a pretty area of the country. I loved it when we lived in L'ville and spent the day in Brown County. A beautiful, fun, artsy area!!! Have a great Autumn!

That story is so sad, what a beautiful girl... her family must be insane over her disappearance.

What a beautiful campus!.. as I get older I appreciate fall more..

and oh, can I sympathize with your allergy woes.. I never had them until the past two years, which have been horrendous. It can make you feel really lousy. I haven't found the "drugs" to be very useful either, they can make you feel just as yucky.

How lovely your pictures are! I never believe summer is over till November comes. I believe we call this time of autumn Indian summer and right now we are having splendid warm sunny days. Today and tomorrow it will be in the mid 20's ( mid 70's) , just great for our Thanksgiving.
