I'm not one of those people who feels summer is over as of Labor Day. When Labor Day rolls around, we are just heading into the bonus zone. September may be back-to-school, but it is still summer to me. October is the real beginning of fall. Last Thursday I attended an event across campus and shot some photos while walking over and back. As tomorrow is October 1, I thought I would share these parting shots with you, today.

Wonderful day for sitting on the terrace...
Wandering through our wooded campus...

Heading back to my building...

It is supposed to get down to 36 degrees tomorrow night. I am working to bring in the houseplants that have been outdoors all summer. We've already had some days that I've ran my heater in the car on the way to work and one morning I even turned on the heat in the house while I showered. I've been struggling with cold-like symptoms that my doctor tells me are merely allergies.
I've been switching out my spring/summer clothes for fall/winter clothes.
I am in the process of cleaning up the fireplace room because it won't be too long before we are sitting beside the fire.
I know we will still have some sunny, warm days in October, but to me October means fall is truly upon us. I love fall. Fall is my favorite season and October is my favorite month. And not just because I'm an October baby!
"Bye-bye September. Hello, fall!"
