What she wore - #2

This is what I wore to my friend's son's wedding.  I had the boots and tights, bought a new sweater dress and paired it with a knit jacket of sorts and matching necklace and earrings.

This was taken in our drive.  Our burning bush is burning! I bought the dress, jacket and jewelry at Dressbarn.  The tights and boots are also from Dressbarn - but I bought them last year.

Have you been shopping, recently?  Take it from me, the pickins are slim!  I'm not crazy about a lot of stuff out there - even at Dressbarn, but I also found a pair of basic jeans and two knit tops.  I'm not a huge jeans person and only had one pair.  It seems to me a lot of the clothing out there right now is cheap and not very well made.  And if it is very well made, it costs an arm and a leg.

Where is your favorite place to shop?

My favorite place to shop are the thrift stores because I can find really good clothing that's classic and cheap. I have to hunt.. and do it often, but it's worth it.
I do love to go shopping at a store in Lafayette, Ca. called McCaulou's. I love shopping there... especially if they are having a sale. Their clothes are for grown ups not "teeny boppers"... and they have my sizes.
I also shop at Walmart and KMart because they are the only clothing stores in town. I understand what you're saying about the flimsy cloths these days. It's kind of a "foreign" influence.
Love your outfit and that "burning bush". Wow!

You look beautiful! I shop all over the place. Kohl's Penney's Nordstrom, Macy's, Old Navy.
You are a new woman with your red hair and all!
Love it!!

I love your sassy outfit and your new sassy hair too! I would say my favorite stores to shop in are Marshall's, target and anthropologie

This is a great fall outfit. You are the one who told me about Dress Barn and that is where I found the "groom's mom's" dress for the wedding. I am a shrug and sweater girl and Dress Barn always has lots of shrugs, too. Consignment shops are my favorite places to find clothes. It seems I can always find what I am looking for. I am overwhelmed in huge places like Macy's as the racks seem to go on and on and I can't focus on what I'm looking for. I love anthropologie for ideas. I walk out of there inspired. What would you call the style there? Vintage modern? Their clothes are out of my budget though. Surprisingly, I have found some of my prettiest costume jewelry at Meijer. That store has a large selection. Target has great cards and stationery products and love the unepected finds at Marshall's cause you never know what that store will have. One friend of mine who is very thin and dresses very well buys most things at Talbott's. She loves classic styles and has a rule that she won't wear something longer than 10 years! Yet she takes such good care of her clothes that things still look good after that time. Me? I've been in 10 sizes in 10 years! I notice that she always updates with some smaller thing (jewelry, a scarf, shoes) that "pops" and is trendy. But the clothes ... classic all the way.

I'm a Land's End gal, but get sale items from Carson's/Kohl's when I can. I haven't worn a dress in years. Love your sweater one!
