Would you work in a really, really, really hot building all day long with lots of fans droning on and on and making you feel ever so sleepy?
The university does this thing called "cycling" with our air-conditioning. What that means is they turn it off and on. They cool the buildings with chilled air and when it is extremely hot, it is difficult to cool all of the buildings at the same time.
The day before yesterday, it seemed we didn't have any air-conditioning in our building and they came around handing out fans. Then yesterday morning when we came into work, it was hotter in the building than outside. I walked in and said "who wants to go for ice-cream for breakfast?" Then we had an email from our assistant Dean. He went out and bought pop and water and Klondike bars in every flavor.
"Ice-cream for breakfast? I think I will." At some point yesterday, it seemed the air was back on and today we have cooler temperatures outdoors which makes it easier for the system to keep up.
What would you do for a Klondike bar?

Oh my gosh have you had a Magnum bar?
I have to admit I have had more than my share of these in the last week ...and have enjoyed every bite!
Hopefully the rest of the week is cooler for you. Our school is like that too. Hot in the summer b/c their conserving energy and cold in the winter. Yuck!!
Before the 1960's hardly anyone had air-conditioning. I guess folks didn't know any better then so they just drank water and used fans.
I hope you all survive the summer there.
As for a Klondike Bar. I don't think I have ever had one but if you offered me Ben and Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar Crunch I would probably walk on water.
Right now, I'd give anything for one after having come in from mowing. :)
That's a shame you have to work under those condtions, but I guess that's what they have to do. :(
To keep cool....I just ate my last pineapple from Hawaii! YumYum!
XO~Hope
Oh, you don't really want to know what I'd do for a Klondike bar. The heat is driving me insane this summer, and I'm not really sure why. It's always hot here so I don't know what's up this year but I'm not enjoying it.
Yikes!!!!! How we love our A/C, don't we?
The great heat is also heading our way. By tomorrow we are expected to climb to 40C and that's HOT!!
Hi Cheryl, Klondikes are my favorite . . never get tired of them . . all my kids love them too. Best memories when they were growing up. They have gotten smaller that's for sure. Blessings, Sandy:O)
