First fire!

We live for "fire season."
Every summer we leave the fireplace room (keeping room) to itself.  We use the living room.
We had water come in and the tile in the fireplace room was overcome with dirt.  Ugh.  This was the worst year ever to clean up the fireplace room before we started to use the room.  It was dire.  Bucket after bucket of nasty water.

FIRE!
I cleaned the room last night and we then we sat.  I though about entitling this post "Then we sat."  To my far left:
the duggles.  asleep.
To my left:
the Tree
 On my lap:
the Mi.
 To my right:
Chelsea chewing a bone.
Let the season begin.
We had a fire last night and again this morning.  I sat, this morning with oatmeal, yogurt and coffee.
I hope and pray I don't gain my weight back.
We come home, light a fire and sit.

Sometimes I really regret not buying a home with a fireplace. Always had one before this house. Too much hassle and not enough space to fit a stand alone version. Love that every little body around you is drifting to sleep.

I can't wait to get back up to my mom's house and enjoy some fires. The animals all look so cozy.

I miss my fireplace. There is something so wonderful about sitting around the fire with your family, including the animals. Your pets all look like they are as happy as you are about the cool weather and the warm fire. Enjoy!

Hi Cheryl, Looks so comfortable . . I love sitting by the fireplace too. Chino has been too warm lately to even think of lighting the fireplace. Can't wait for the cool weather again. Sandy:O)

Cave man mentality is hard to shake off girl!
It's perfectly fine to sit and enjoy a fire at days end.
Just run your butt off before you go home to it!

I miss our wood burning fireplaces from previous homes. At our current location we have gas. While it's less dirt it doesn't have the same charm.

Aw - what a lovely experience! Sorry for the mess cleaning it, but I'm right there with you - even as warm as it is today, I'm thinking about starting a yummy fire. There's just something so ...Warm...about it. :)
